Kleenex Review

I was given the opportunity by Crowd Tap to review two types of Kleenex tissues.  The samples were free, the opinions are my own.

And Kleenex is offering an exclusive coupon for you! http://goo.gl/kcNaAO

There are certain things that you just get what you pay for.  Tissues are better if they are name brand.  And even more so if the brand is Kleenex!  I love the softness of their tissues with lotion.  It is hard enough to get a tot with a runny nose to let you wipe it.  It is even worse when the skin around their sweet little noses is sore.  The softness of the Kleenex tissues keeps this from being  a problem.

Have you tried the new Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues? They are super cool.  It is a three-layered tissue with a moisture activated middle layer that kills 99.9% of cold and flu viruses in 15 minutes!  How handy is that for this time of year?  If you haven't tried them, you should run out a grab a box before the crud hits your house.

Product Review

I was given the opportunity from Crowd Tap and Scott to review their new Tube Free toilet paper.  I have to say that I was skeptical at first - I just didn't think it would work as well, but honestly, I didn't miss the tube at all.  I think it is important for all of us to do our part is helping the environment and if it is something as easy to foregoing the toilet paper tube - I'm in!

Children's Mucinex

I was given a sample of children's Mucinex to try.  The opinions are entirely my own.

About a week ago my 6 year old was showing the first signs of a cold - coughing, sneezing, runny nose - you know the drill.  And almost magically my free bottle of Children's Mucinex arrived in my mailbox.

My daughter's first reaction was that the flavor was appealing.  She said it was a little "tingly" when she swallowed it.  Within just a few doses we started to notice a difference in the sound of her cough.  You can take the Mucinex every four hours.   After a few days we say a noticeable improvement.

My only complaint - the measuring cap is wide and shallow.  This makes it easier to spill the precious liquid contained inside.  Otherwise, it seems to be a great product and something I will use again.

Yummy Banana Bread - Update

Do you have some bananas that are past their prime?  In our house, we prefer a fairly green banana to it's brown-spotted ripened brothers.  So once they start to get spots on them, they are probably not going to be eaten by any of us.  This conundrum put me in search of an easy banana bread recipe.

And I found it.  Chances are you have all the ingredients you need already in your pantry.  This recipe is yummy and is easy enough to be kid's in the kitchen friendly.  It's moist and dense and beautifully banana-y. (Click on the picture to be taken to the recipe)

Some people like to eat their banana bread just like it is.  I, however, prefer to toast mine just a little and smear a some peanut butter on it.   That, my friends, is the way to eat banana bread.

So try this out and whip up a loaf (or two, they freeze well you know) for yourself.

The link does not appear to be working.  This recipe comes from http://www.allrecipes.com/

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed banana
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9x5 inch pan.
  2. Cream margarine and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs, then bananas. Add flour and soda, stirring just until combined.
  3. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 1 hour (or till toothpick comes out clean). Remove from pan and let cool, store in refrigerator or freeze.

Operation Organization Post #2

My last post was about tackling the refrigerator and freezer.  If the condition of those appliances didn't scare you away - I appreciate you giving me another shot!

Today we are going to continue in the kitchen and take a look at the spice cabinet and some of the other storage cabinets.

Operation Organization Post #1

I don't know if it is the Nesting Instinct kicking in already or if I had finally had my fill with my house being a perpetual disaster, but we spent our long Memorial Day Weekend on Operation Organization as I like to call it.

Over the next few posts, I am going to show you some of the projects and messes we tackled.  I am embarrassed by the Before shots but I hope we can continue to be friends. :)

Maybe these posts will encourage you to do the same - or at the very least, allow you to scoff in horror at another household's mess!

My first room to tackle was da-da-daaaaaa - The Kitchen

Monster Cookie Dough Dip

I love Pinterest.  Have I told you that?  I love it in so many ways.  Recently and perhaps most delightfully, I love it because it introduced me to Monster Cookie Dough Dip.
